I knew everything was going to be alright when the bird crapped on my shoulder the day before the proposal. But let's back up a bit. We flew from Maui to Kona for the final leg of this journey. Jillian had narrowed it down to her final two, Ed and Kiptyn. Despite the emotional breakup with Reid, Jillian was feeling pretty good about the situation. Now I don't want to bore you by going back over all the details of this episode, so I'm going to give you my opinion of what went down and why. I know it might sound weird but Jillian had love for each of these guys. If life and love was purely about a physical attraction Kiptyn would've easily been the one. That's not to say they didn't have an emotional connection too, but Jillian didn't see growing old with him and that was big for her. While Ed was dancing around Hawaii in shorts that wouldn't fit my 7-year-old and Kiptyn was flexing his abs, Reid was desperately trying to get a hold of producers. As you heard him say on the Final Rose special, he felt there was something still there between he and Jillian, and he was willing to go all the way to prove it. I have to give the guy credit — this was a bold, brave move. As you could clearly see by the look on her face, Jill had absolutely no idea Reid was coming back.

Allowing Reid to come back was a very tough decision for us to make. This final day is always an emotional roller coaster for all of us. After a long haul, Jillian had mentally prepared herself to break up with Kiptyn and choose Ed. Throwing Reid back into the equation was very risky. We had no idea how Jillian would react and what this would do to her final decision. We were all really flying by the seat of our pants on this one. We knew that both Kiptyn and Ed had rings and were prepared to get down on one knee, and as far as TV goes that was more than enough to successfully wrap up this season. But just like you saw, we also felt there was just something there between Jill and Reid, and had time not been a factor there's no way she would have let him go in Maui. When I saw Jillian's reaction when Reid walked out on that platform, our suspicions were confirmed. She still had serious feelings for this guy. What followed was about an hour of emotion and confusion. Hard to believe after this many seasons we could possibly run into a situation we've never dealt with before, but that's the beauty of this show: we always do.

If you ask Jillian about that final day and Reid coming back she'll tell you it was always Ed all the way. I understand her position and if I was engaged to somebody else I would probably paint the same picture. I don't doubt for a second that Jillian loves Ed and I know that was what she wanted the moment she woke up that morning. But I also know that there was serious temptation when Reid came back and that temptation did lead to a moment of doubt. Luckily Jillian had the poise to walk away and try and collect her thoughts. That's when I asked the producers if I could go talk to her. Jillian and I have become very good friends over the last year and at that moment she needed a friend to talk to, somebody that wasn't going to manipulate or lead her in a certain direction, just somebody that would listen and let her lead herself back where she always wanted to be and that was with Ed.

I received more than a few Twitters asking why I was in the Ed camp — insinuating that I pushed Jillian in that direction. First of all, let me say I wasn't in anybody's camp. I told Jillian once she narrowed it down to the final three she really couldn't go wrong. All three guys were good men and a good fit for her in their own way. That's what made this one of the toughest decisions I've seen a Bachelorette ever have to make. Obviously my talk with Jillian was much longer and more involved than what we were able to show you on TV. I talked with her for probably ten minutes before she arrived at the decision to let Reid go again. Something you didn't see that made me laugh, and feel old, was when we were done Jillian said I reminded her of her dad. I told her her dad must be a smart man and I would take that as a compliment. Jillian knew in her heart what she wanted to do. She just needed a friend there to help her work through her emotions and figure it out. I was happy to be that friend. If she had sat down and told me that Reid was the man she loved and wanted to be with, that would have been fine by me as well, but that's not what she wanted. If you ask me to be honest about it, I have to admit for a moment there I really thought she was going to take Reid back. I'll be interested to hear your opinion of what Reid pulled.

Because Reid coming back took so long, by the time he left the sun was setting over the ocean and it was getting dark. We really didn't think we were going to be able to make it. Once Ed showed up everything was perfect. The sun was setting and you could tell it was right. When you see them together, and I have several times, they are really perfect together. I had many people say they couldn't believe she dumped Kiptyn or Reid and they actually seemed mad about it. This I truly understand. If you think she was going to pick somebody else that's one thing. If you personally would've picked somebody else, I get that too. But what I don't understand is how you could possibly question what's in Jillian's heart. How you could possibly question a woman who's happily in love with a man? Ultimately, this is her life, her heart, and she's the one that made a decision that will affect her life forever. I think she and Ed are great together and I couldn't be happier for the both of them. In the following days I know I'll be asked if I think this will last. If I could tell you that I'd put a future bet on who's going to win next year's Super Bowl. All I can tell you is what I see and that is two people who love each other very much and really want to make this work. Two people who are willing to put in the time and effort to make this work. That's all you can ask for and expect at this point.

As I said, I knew there was going to be a beautiful ending the day before the proposal. The afternoon before, I was at lunch with some folks from the show. We were talking about how the next day was going to play out when Bam! A bird crapped all over my shirt. The first thing people started telling me was that's great, that's very good luck. Funny how when bad things happen like rain on your wedding day we tell people it's good luck. I gotta be honest. I didn't see the luck in getting pooped on. I just felt like I needed to go shower and change my shirt. But if that's what it took for Jillian to find true love, I was happy to do my part. The bird certainly seemed happy to do its part.

Shooting on the islands of Hawaii was a privilege, and the resort we stayed at and shot at was the Fairmont Orchid in Kona. This is one of my new favorite places in the world. I would like to thank them for their hospitality. It was funny, the day of the proposal my wife and I walked over to Jillian's suite, which was next door to ours. We walked in to find three people trying to help Jill zip up her dress. My wife quickly jumped in. So now there's four people all around Jillian, who's now laughing, trying to get her in her dress. Kind of sums up Jill and her attitude. She has such a great personality. It made it a real joy to work with her this season.

We have still not picked our next bachelor. Tell me who you think it should be. Is there someone from this show you love or should we pick a new face all together? Overall I thought this was a very good season. I'm proud of Jillian and happy the way it all turned out. In the end, this was a Bilbro lovin', mango mango lookin', bad country croonin' season of the Bachelorette. I'd like to truly thank you for watching and supporting us and once again making this show tops on TV. For everyone who's been a part of this one…I'm Chris Harrison… Good Night!

The Bachelorette's Jillian Is Writing a Hot Dog Book!

The Bachlorette, Ed Swiderski, Jillian Harris ABC/MARIO PEREZ

Let's skip the news about Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski's wedding plans for now and get to our favorite tasty tidbit from our chat with the Bachelorette and her chosen one: Jillian's writing a dating book based on hot dog toppings! Finally, we say. WTF, you ask?

Here's the background for you non-Bachelor/Bachelorette followers: Other than the steamy hot tub scene on the last season of The Bachelor, this Canadian cutie is equally known for telling viewers that you can judge a man's character based on his choice of hot dog toppings. Makes sense now, eh?

“Well … that’s a wrap! I will keep this post short and sweet as I have an eager man waiting for me and wanting to get OUT IN PUBLIC together … FINALLY! I have been waiting for this day since May 24th — the day that I can openly tell you how madly in love I am, how happy I am and how excited I am for the future.

A wise man once said, “Love, it don’t come easy” — and that is so true. I can honestly say that I have found my best friend but it didn’t come without consequences. Aside from all the crying, surprises, drama, public criticism and most importantly, hurting two incredible men that I will never forget — please understand that it broke my heart as much as theirs — I never imagined in a million years that I would have to let two men go that I love so dearly, and have it hurt so so much in order to be with the man that I am wanting to spend the rest of my life with.

Reid and Kiptyn are both unbelievable men. Some will have opinions of why maybe I should have picked one or the other instead of Ed. Some will see why Ed was perfect for me from the beginning. I embrace ALL of your opinions. I can see why you would all think ALL three of these men would be great for me. For those who want to congratulate my happiness … THANK YOU!!! We are both EXTREMELY happy (still) and truly it gets better and better every day we are together.

The “After the Final Rose” was not easy. Not for me, and not for Reid or Kiptyn I’m sure. I felt like there was no right way to deal with the situation. I have always been very close with my exes but have never had to confront them in a setting like this before so I was definitely hurting. There are so many fabulous memories and so many sensitive ones. All I can say is that I am lucky — lucky to have been loved by these men and lucky to be with one right now that thinks the world of me.

As I type this, we are off to our FIRST outing in public, hopefully just wings and beer! I am so excited and so eager to get my normal little life back. Ed and I have spent the summer together (every two weeks for five days at a time) and it truly does keep on getting better and better. We have so much fun together, know one another so well and find ourselves so comfortable with each other. We have learned so much about one another and I am loving every minute of it.

Oh wait — someone’s stealing my computer!

Ed here! I cannot believe the journey that we have experienced over the last few months. But we are having a blast and could not be happier. I want to thank everyone for their support and cheering us on. Jilly and I have been spending so much time together and have an incredible summer planned. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU … for believing in Jilly and supporting her throughout this. She means the world to me and I promise I will take good care of her. We are ready for a wicked life together!

–Ed

Well, I better get going. Mr. Invisible is waiting patiently. Love you ALL, thank you soooo much!!!! I would not have gotten through this without all of your support.

XOXOXOX and ALL MY LOVE,

Jillian

A giddy Jillian Harris is packing up her bags and moving to Chicago to shack up with her new fiance, Ed Swiderski.

Vancouver's reality TV star revealed on Tuesday night's episode of The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose that she'll be saying goodbye to Canada on Sept. 1.

Is Jillian and Ed the new Trista and Ryan?

Bachelorette2____ As Jillian Harris has pursued true love on TV, she’s also upheld a franchise’s ratings.

Last week, a few days before Monday’s finale of “The Bachelorette” aired on ABC, its star, Jillian Harris, was sitting at a bar in Los Angeles, anxiously eyeing her surroundings and quieting her voice down as waitresses and busboys passed by her table. She was about to reveal the secret she had been keeping.

“Oh my God, oh my God. I feel like I’m sweating right now,” she said, her hands smoothing the silk of her dress. She bit her lip, smiled and then said that in May, she had given the final rose — to use the show’s parlance — to Ed Swiderski, a 29-year-old Microsoft technology consultant from Chicago. The pair are engaged, she said, and her parents were the only ones who knew about it. She’s spent more time this summer with him than anyone else, meeting up at “a secret little house somewhere” every two weeks for five days. She was text-messaging with him before the interview.

For how fast she was talking and how much she was smiling, she did appear to genuinely be in love. They eat the same things, she said. They have the same sleeping patterns, the same taste in music, the same passions about camping, beer and being with family. She thinks he looks like Jeffrey Dean Morgan — “Hubba, hubba!”

Dun, dun, dun...It's finale recap time!

For 10 weeks, we've been watching Jillian's search for love. Yes, it's a television show that is out for ratings, but like millions of Americans, I continue to believe that two people can meet and fall in love under the harsh glare of reality-TV cameras.

Isn't that why we are all tuned in on Monday nights? The hope that love will win out, even in the most unusual and bizarre set of circumstances? Well, that's why I have my TiVo set! Am I biased? Sure. But when I look into the beautiful eyes of my children, I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that love from a TV setup is most definitely possible. Will it be a reality for Jillian? Only time will tell. For now, though, I just want to see a happy ending to a crazy courtship.

Considering all that came before, was it surprising that the proceedings leading up to tonight's proposal lacked a certain gravitas?

On Monday's finale of The Bachelorette, the bullet-dodging Jillian Harris had to choose between the gone-yesterday, here-today Ed Swiderski and Kiptyn "I don't want to lose" Locke.

After meeting Jillian's family in Hawaii and spending one last night with the object of their increasingly believable affection, Ed and Kip both picked out engagement rings (we liked Kip's 3-karat sparkler best) and formulated what they wanted to say to the 29-year-old interior designer.

No Mess, No Problem for The Bachelorette

The Bachlorette, Ed Swiderski, Jillian Harris ABC/MARIO PEREZ

The Bachelor or The Bachelorette? Ellen DeGeneres or Katie Holmes? And rocket scientists or regular ol' sitcom types?

The answers—and more questions—in our weekly TV quiz:

1. Who's the bigger closer: Jason Mesnick or Jillian Harris? The answer, which is Mesnick, isn't the whole answer. In its own way, last night's rather routine finale for the Harris edition of The Bachelorette was as successful as Mesnick's famously messy Bachelor farewell in March. The Bachelorette season closer scored its biggest audience since 2004, ABC said; in March, The Bachelor scored its biggest audience since 2003.

2. Define big. In the case of The Bachelorette, you're talking nearly 10 million viewers, per preliminary Nielsen estimates. With The Bachelor, the audience numbered about 15.5 million (and then hit 17 million for the Melissa Rycroft-dumping, postfinale show).

This week's episode was billed as "The most emotional season finale in Bachelorette history." But unless bikinis make you teary, it was pretty tame. Thought Jillian had "doubts" about the two remaining men, the conflict felt pretty contrived. Was the passion there with Ed after it fell flaccid - sorry, flat in the fantasy suite? Was Kiptyn realy ready to make a long-term commitment? Who would she choose: cuddly commitment or sexy passion? Read on to find out.

Bachelorette After the Final Rose Spoilers: Jillian and Ed Not Still Together?

Bachelorette fans were fuming last night as 29-year-old Jillian Harris made the decision to be with Ed Swiderski and send home Kiptyn Locke broken-hearted.

But has Jillian, who was fooled into thinking that former contestant Wes didn’t have a girlfriend, made the same mistake twice? It appears so. Spoilers for tonight’s After the Final Rose reveal that Jillian and Ed may not still be together because Ed had a girlfriend back home all along.

While we think it’s absurd to think that Ed would even go on the show with a girlfriend, let alone propose to Jillian, his sketchy on-and-off behaviour this season (remember when he bailed and went home?) has the word untrustworthy written all over it.

'Bachelorette' picks sensitive Ed

By LINDSEY WARD, http://www.edmontonsun.com/entertainment/tv/2009/07/27/10282641-sun.html

Sensitive technology consultant Ed Swiderski wins the heart of Jillian Harris, the first-ever Canadian star of "The Bachelorette."

It's the most logical ending in Bachelorette history.

Quirky, cute Canadian girl Jillian Harris trusted her gut and accepted Michigan technology consultant Ed Swiderski's proposal on Monday night -- leaving behind looks-good-on-paper guys Kiptyn Locke and Reid Rosenthal (who made a not-so-shocking return).

There was no denying the passion between Peace River, Alta., native Jillian, 30, and hunky dork Ed, 29 -- who returned to the show to beg for her forgiveness after leaving to handle a work emergency.

After working out a few of their relationship -- and bedroom -- kinks on Monday's two-hour The Bachelorette finale on City and ABC, Jill and Ed sealed the deal with a perfect proposal set against a stunning Hawaii backdrop.

It all sounds too good to be true -- but Jill, a Vancouver restaurant designer, had to break a couple hearts first. Here's how it all went down:

:07: It's meet-the-parents time for Ed, and he breaks the ice by telling them: "I was married to my job." Way to start it off, buddy. Their faces drop, but Ed saves himself from getting kicked in the pants by answering all 66 of mom Peggy's questions correctly and sucking up to dad Glen -- even getting permission to ask for Jillian's hand (as long as the divorce with his job has been finalized, I presume).

:18: Kiptyn's turn, and I really don't think he can do better with Jill's folks than Ed did. OK, so Mom thinks he's the greatest thing (after all, he is a handsome Californian business developer). Dad just wants to know if he's really in love with Jillian. "I'm getting there," Kiptyn, 31, stutters. What the heck does that mean? Geez, it's always the really good-looking ones who can't give you a straight answer.

Ed is put to the test by Jillian Harris's mom Peggy on the two-hour season finale of "The Bachelorette" tonight.

Peggy teases him, saying, "I am not going to do what I did to Jason [Mesnick]. I had 76 questions for him; I only have 66 for you."

Then she begins grilling him: "Do you want to have children? How do you see your relationship 30 or 40 years from now? What is the glue between Jillian and yourself that will make this a long-lasting relationship?"

Ed manages to get through the inquisition, then heads outside where he relaxes and dances the hula with Jillian, her dad, Glenn, and her cousin.

It's dramatic decision time for our Jillian on Bachelorette

By Lindsey Ward, http://lfpress.ca/newsstand/Today/Entertainment/2009/07/25/10256461-sun.html

Roses are red, violets are blue -- is Jill really ready to say "I do?"

As it turns out, Canada's sweetheart -- Peace River, Alta.-bred Bachelorette star Jillian Harris -- isn't as intently focused on landing a rock on Monday's undoubtedly dramatic finale as one may think.

"I mean, let's be realistic," she says. "There is nobody in this world and nobody in the history of the show that I can say was, you know -- after this amount of time, and under these circumstances ready for a real life engagement."

Really, Jill? You mean, three months isn't a long enough period to fall in love with one of 30 men selected by ABC producers, accept their proposal, and attempt to start a life with them while living in separate cities and not even knowing what they like on their toast? Why, you might just be the most practical Reality TV contestant. Ever.

Yep, that's our girl. And in two more sleeps, we'll finally get to see who she chose -- Cali business developer Kiptyn, 31, or Michigan technology consultant Ed, 29. If previously eliminated Pennsylvania realtor Reid did return with a ring -- as the trailer for the two-hour showdown suggests -- we don't doubt she was an emotional mess.

The Bachelorette series finale settles the most important question facing the planet at the moment: will Vancouver chatterbox Jillian Harris choose Ed, the 29-year-old technology consultant or Kiptyn, the 31-year-old business developer?

Enough of the "man code," it's time for the girl code.

This morning, Jillian Harris poured herself a cup of coffee and sat down with dozens of reporters, via a conference call, to discuss everything she is allowed to discuss before next week's finale of "The Bachelorette."

Two days after a relatively unexciting "Men Tell All" episode and less than a week before America will see for themselves whether Kiptyn, Ed, the returning Reid or none of the above will resemble the rose of her future, Jillian sounded happy, sure and very vague.

Below, we use Girl Code to decipher Jillian's words and shed some light on next week's highly anticipated and final rose ceremony.

"The Bachelorette"'s Jillian Harris says she is on top of the world right now and she can't wait until next Monday's finale so everybody can see why. But to get there, she had to wade through a lot of drama with two of the series' best-ever bad boys: Wes and David.

"I have no regrets from anything this season," she says just days before the big reveal of her chosen guy. "Part of me says maybe I should have let Wes go sooner. Part of me wishes I had been a little harder on Dave for being so crass and rude, but those are not regrets. If I regretted anything … to me there is no regret that you can't change. If I regretted anything I would go back and see if I could make it work a second time."

Interview with Jillian Harris, the Bachelorette

by Page Wiser, http://blogs.suntimes.com/tv/2009/07/interview_with_jillian_harris.html

Just finished a conference call with Jillian, God bless her. She could probably use a nice extended breakdown about now.

My mom: "Ask her how much she weighs. She's so tiny!"

I did not. But here were the highlights:

*OK, this is a shocker. Jillian has already downloaded Wes's lame song, "It Don't Come Easy." In fact, she's downloaded the whole CD. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES IS ANYONE ELSE TO DO THIS.

*She says she was only full-out drunk three times -- for the first rose ceremony, the second rose ceremony, and the snowmobiling date. But there was a lot of drinking, and she never got a day off. Her big hangover cure? "Coconut water. It's like drinking 10 Gatorades, with no sugar."

*Jillian's recommended toenail polishes: Revlon's Make Mine Mango ("Tanner really loved that color"), and My Chihuahua Bites by OPI.

*For her dream wedding, she would have red and white gingham tablecloths, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and her Aunt Becky's cabbage rolls.

*In trying to keep the guys straight, Jillian called Jesse "Josh." Twice.

Jillian Harris' love life

Canada's bachelorette launches design company, but focused on love life

TORONTO — The Canadian star of "The Bachelorette" says she's started her own interior design company and would be open to hosting a design show if the opportunity arises.

But Jillian Harris says career plans are taking a backseat to her love life these days, refusing to say whether she's come out of the sensational dating show with an engagement or not.

So far, viewers only know that Harris whittled down a pool of 30 suitors to just two men ahead of Monday's finale. They include the sweet-natured Ed from Chicago and the charming Kiptyn from Encinitas, Calif.

In a conference call with reporters Wednesday, Harris refused to say who she chooses nor would she comment on rampant online talk that third-place Reid makes a surprise appearance in a last-ditch effort to win her over.

"It is an exciting episode and it was a crazy day," was all Harris would say by phone from a Los Angeles hotel. "It's all very dramatic."

Suffice it to say that Harris, who hails from Peace River, Alta., insists she's very happy and has no regrets about the controversial choices she made along the way.

That includes her decision to keep country singer Wes in the running even after she was told he boasted behind-the-scenes about having a girlfriend and said he was on the show to promote his music.

Fans have been quick to vilify the dark-haired crooner, who made it to the Top Four and was kicked off after a stilted dinner date with Harris in Spain.

Had she known more at the time, Harris admits she may have kicked Wes off the show earlier, but said she still thinks highly enough of him to want to know how he's weathered a firestorm of viewer vitriol.

"I'd love to check in with Wes and just see how he's doing with all of this chaos," says Harris. "He's still somebody that I do respect as an individual, whether or not people think he deserves that, I do."

The Bachelorette: The Men tell all or at least some do.

by Tasha Gordon, http://www.huffingtonpost.com/tasha-gordonsolmon/the-bachelorette-the-men_b_241966.html

This week, the men told all. Or at least they told some. Or at least they repeated what they've been saying all season in different words. Or in the same words. Okay at least they were nice to look at.

In fact, everyone stepped up their efforts to look pretty this week. Jesse grew some facial hair and so did David -- though David's was probably an attempt at a disguise. (In case anyone forget -- David is the crazy one with the short temper and desperate allegiance to the ever elusive Man Code. But more on that later.) It wasn't just the guys who cleaned up. Jillian sported a serious spray-on tan and a set of teeth that had been whitened about twelve times. Even Molly was working the makeover.

That's right, last season's "controversial" Bachelor couple , Molly and Jason returned! (They're now calling themselves "the M&M team"-- I guess "Jolly" just didn't have the right ring.) Molly looked pretty much they same, but when we saw clips of her and Jason just being a normal couple with a camera crew following behind...she was a brunette! So even while she complained about how difficult it was, dealing with the harsh "media and the tabloids and the internet" all I could hear was, "Look how versatile I am world: blond-to brunette- to blond! So give me my own morning show on the Lifetime Network, Just like Deanna!

Trista's blog: Men Tell All

Trista Sutter Blogs About The Bachelorette: David the Belligerent Jackass

Trista Sutter

I can hardly believe we've already reached the always crazy "The Men Tell All" special. I guess I should know how time flies, though, with two kiddos under 2 years old! Here's my take on some of the highlights...

Here are some of the best (and worst) quotes and moments from the bantering boys:

  • Sasha's description of Jake, saying he's probably had the same haircut since he was 6 years old.
  • David: "As far as I'm concerned, that's as bad as it gets," referring to Tanner telling Jillian someone had a girlfriend. So let me get this straight. You think that coming onto the show with a girlfriend is better? Tanner's just the messenger, though I still don't think he was right to put it out there and not follow through.
  • David saying that Juan should "go drown himself." And everyone thought my "filth of the earth" comment about Wes was bad!
  • Tanner F. saying that Jake "pulled a Mesnick," which is when a grown man leans over a railing and cries, aka Jason Mesnick. Genius.
  • David saying that the problem he had with Juan was that he wouldn't drink with the rest of the guys all day. Why is that cool? Why does that make you a man? Maybe downing beers all day with the dudes in your frat house was cool back in college, but life after you graduate should mean more than throwing back a few cold ones—especially when you are trying to focus on finding love.
  • I had been looking forward to seeing Jesse, but the hair lip has got to go!
  • Chris pointing out that being on the Bachelorette is a true violation of David's warped man code and then backing up Juan saying that he has no obligation to explain himself to David for not doing a shot. "Who gives a crap" is right! Thank you, Mr. Harrison!
  • Tanner P. explaining that Wes winked at him that he had a girl back home and David saying "everyone has a girl back home." First, finally glad to hear where Tanner heard Wes had a girlfriend. Second, seriously, David? Did you not learn anything about how horrid your words and actions look to America when you watched yourself this season? Doesn't seem like change is in your near future, although I had hopes.

Kiptyn for Next Bachelor?

The Bachelorette: Kiptyn's a Locke for next Bachelor role

Jillian Harris narrowed the field to two on the most recent episode of The Bachelorette.

Jillian Harris narrowed the field to two on the most recent episode of The Bachelorette.

It's official: Kiptyn Locke has a lock on the starring role in the next Bachelor series. How do I know? On Monday night's "The Men Tell All" episode — from which the most interesting men, Wes and Reid, were conspicuously absent — Kiptyn was elevated to sainthood.

That's right: While bachelor Ed Swiderski, Kiptyn's official competition in next week's final showdown for Jillian Harris's heart, was shown stumblingly drunk and, um, passing gas at one of the rose ceremonies, Kiptyn was shown passing words of wisdom on to kids at his hometown charity, where everyone cried a little over his unique ability to make a difference.

Previously unseen footage of Ed — whose good looks and straightforward, seemingly mature approach have won him a host of fans — showed Jillian trying to have a Serious Conversation with him at an early stage of the competition. Ed appears to listen hard, then says blearily, "That's a lot of words that you just threw at me," while Jillian laughs indulgently.

Then we see Ed doing a little drunken dance for Jillian in a hotel hallway, while she helps prop the more-than-six-foot man up. "Ed is the happiest, funniest drunk I've ever met in my whole life," she later enthuses. Only Jillian could see the silver lining in this wine-soaked cloud.
