tvfunspot.com: So when we talked at the end of the Bachelor you weren't sure that you wanted to do this. What was it that made you change your mind?
Jillian: Well, temptation I guess. It's just curiosity and having, getting the opportunity I think last time you asked me, I just had no idea that I would even have the opportunity. But once you get that little ticket and somebody says, "Do you want to give this a try?" I always thought well I'm still single, and last season was definitely hard, but I learned a lot about myself and what's the harm in giving it a shot.

Question: I know you can't tell us your situation now because it hasn't ended. But can you rate these guys? Do you think there might be somebody?
Jillian: Oh, I've learned my lesson. I do not rate the guys. But they're just very, they're all very different and they all make me feel differently, but I can tell you that they are wonderful guys, and I think I've made some really, really great choices.

Question: I got to ask you the first question that all of Calgary if not Canada wants to know. There's no Canadian guys in the running? How did you feel about that?
Jillian: I know, but you know I didn't know there was not going to be any, but when they all came out the first night, it was one of the first things that I thought. Then I sort of thought to myself, okay what if there were three or four Canadian guys. What are the chances that one of those guys would be the one that I choose? And also what are the chances, what's better for me to find a guy that maybe lives in Seattle or along the Western Coast or to find a guy who lives out in Toronto. I guess when I put it into perspective and I sort of thought, you know, I am a Canadian I am a very proud Canadian, but I've learned a lot that there's not a huge difference between American guys and Canadian guy so I'm okay with that.

Question: Okay and I have to ask you what do you eat on your hot dogs?
Jillian: Well I like to load it up but mustard and sauerkraut.

Question: Mike Fleiss told us that he talked to Melissa Rycroft and Molly before approaching you and I just wanted to see if you felt like third place or if you ever felt like a third choice?
Jillian: I was a third choice on last season. I know what that feels like. I'm comfortable with that. But no, in all honesty, it's like obviously there's going to be other people that are considered for this role and I'm not sure if you've read anything about my views on me being selected, but honestly I'm just a short little hyper quirky Canadian and I actually don't feel like I fit the mold of the Bachelorette very well. I was very surprised that they asked me. So it doesn't come as a surprise to me that they would have asked Melissa and Molly. They're both very beautiful, talented and outgoing personable girls. Also me being placed third on the Bachelor sort of naturally places either one of them as the natural choice. So no it doesn't make me feel like I'm third, it makes me feel really happy that they declined.

Question: You mentioned that your father's jaw dropped after the hot tub scene last season. The show really strongly insinuated that you and also the other contestants basically had relations with this guy and I just wanted to see if there was anything you wanted to clear the air about.
Jillian: Tim, I think that that's probably the most inappropriate question ever. I'm normally really a really open girl about all these kind of things. But I mean it's one of those things, that anybody can assume that I had a steamy make out session with Jason and I went in the hot tub. That him and I quote unquote "did it." And we can also assume that every Bachelor and Bachelorette in history has done it with those people, but unfortunately what you don't see on camera is what, and I think it's one of those things that it's like what if I turn the question on you and ask you if you had sex last night?

Question: And if that wasn't the case I wanted to give you a chance to clear the air if you wanted to or to not answer it, you know, there's no gun to your head.
Jillian: You know what it's like even if I had or hadn't I don't think that's a topic that I would even want to talk about. I give you huge credit for having the guts to ask that question because I know it's a question that everybody wants to ask, but I always find it really funny like a few people asked my mom that question after last season and my mom didn't know how to answer it and I just told her tell people it's inappropriate to ask that question. I think being a 30-year-old grown woman who is very successful in her career and has a great background, great morals and great values, people can take a look at me and who I am as a person - they're entitled to their opinion.

Question: I think my reason for asking is really knowing what we know now about Jason I think people, definitely our readers, view him negatively. When they believe that he had hooked up with three different women over the course of this. Knowing that two of them, at least probably two of them were going home.
Jillian: But what about all the other bachelors and bachelorettes?

Question: I'm not talking about them.
Jillian: I know yes, I honestly think that Jason is a really great guy. Whatever steamy make out session we had I don't feel like he led me on. He is going through the process to make sure that he makes the right choices. And sometimes a good steamy make out session with somebody can enlighten you and say you know what I didn't feel that spark that I was looking for. Don't get me wrong like, I'm not really offended. I was actually waiting for that question and it's funny how it fires me up because I am doing something that's very public and I am putting my love life on the line publicly. It's like let's say I had slept with Jason then I don't think that's anybody's business and let's say I hadn't slept with Jason and that also is nobody's business. I think that this is where I'm being really stubborn and I could say right now I did not sleep with him just to make myself look better, but I don't want to do that because I don't want for people to feel entitled for them to know that information. Sorry Tim, I'm sorry if I came over a little bit harsh but that's the one thing I feel really strongly about.

Question: Coming from a place like Peace River just sounds so interesting and exotic and so forth. Give us a little more of a feeling, did you grow up, did you spend your whole childhood in Peace River? And how did that form you as a person?
Jillian: I spent yes my whole childhood. I was born and raised in Peace River and I believe I moved out when I was about 19. Honestly I'm going to start to get teary-eyed just thinking about it, but I loved growing up there. It was full of being an old soul because you learn to communicate with people your own age and adults and you're always camping and fishing and spending time outdoors. A lot of family barbecues, I grew up in a town where I could stay out running around the woods till 7:00 or 8:00 at night and come home and nobody would be worried about me. I came from a town where my auntie lived right across the street and I could run down and say hi to her and have a coffee and nobody would worry about me. So, it's just it's a great, great little town and most of my friends and family still live there. I wish I was a lot closer that's for sure.

Question: You called yourself a short little quirky Canadian, how short are you and just give us an example of quirky?
Jillian: I am 5ft 2ins. Maybe 5ft 3ins on a good day and I think I'm just quirky because when it comes to sex appeal, I don't know how much I have. I love to make people laugh. I love to stand up for myself as you've just heard. I love speak what's on my mind, I love to find humor in everything. I'm just all about funny, you know I just love being funny and I love telling good jokes and making people laugh. I'm not afraid to look silly and to make fun of myself in order to make somebody else laugh.

Question: This season there were more bachelors on the show than ever before. Did you find the situation a little bit overwhelming?
Jillian: Oh my God, yes. I was overwhelmed when there was 25 guys and when the extra five came out, yes, I was very overwhelmed I didn't know how to react. You're spreading yourself thin if you've got one night to try to connect with 30 suitors and remember all their names and where they're from and what they do for a living. It's very hard.

Question: Part of the reason Jason chose Melissa first off was he said he had to, he kind of showed some reservations about choosing the wild card and taking that risk. Have you thought about how you're going to base your decision in the end and how have you made the decision so far in eliminating the bachelors?
Jillian: Well, I have to admit it's way harder than I thought. I have all these different things going through my mind. Do I pick the guy who has everything I want on paper? Do I pick the guy who makes me laugh and would be my best friend? Do I pick the guy who makes my heart go pitter patter? Do I pick the guy that everybody else likes or do I pick the guy I know America is going to love but not me? It's like so difficult to know how to choose the right person in the end and as you know I have not chosen that person yet, so I'm still struggling with that decision. But I think I'm just trying to look at all of those things I just told you and make sure that one of those four or five things are there and continue to spend time with them If I saw one of those guys walking down the street and I met them in a pub with peanuts on the floor would I be attracted to them? Would I want to call them the next day? Would I be excited for them to walk through the door 50 years from now? I think that's what I keep on trying to think of. It's hard to put yourself in that state of mind when you're in this beautiful tropical fairy tale paradise, but that's what I keep on telling myself.

Question: I was wondering in the initial meeting with the guys there was a guy named Brian from Oklahoma who swooped you up. Did that make a good impression?
Jillian: Oh, funny that you guys already know this stuff already because I have not seen anything, but yes I thought it made a good impression, I mean I think it was really cute and it was outgoing and he was taking a big risk in trying to stand out. So yes, just really as far first impressions are concerned as long as a guy isn't rude or negative then you're making a good impression whatever you're trying to do.

Question: Did you find it hard, well I'm sure you did find it hard, with 30 people when you actually had to cut 10 of them. I mean it wasn't like I didn't get to these, you know, three or four beyond, "hello, nice to meet you," you know, "what's your name?" It's 10 of them how do you eliminate 10 and I know you have to but?
Jillian: I actually and I might eat my words later…maybe after I get to know them after watching the show a little bit more those 10 guys…but I feel like that night I treated it almost like a job like I had to be on all the time, I had to be aware. I really feel like I got enough time and I did find it difficult and I felt like I was very exhausted. I don't even want say by the end of the night because it was pretty much morning by the time you're done that evening. The guys were all great, my problem as I've had this whole season, is this isn't Mr. Congeniality it's who is going to be best with quirky short Canadian Jill. So it was difficult for me to disappoint them but I've always, I've felt very confident in my decisions at every rose ceremony.

Question: What did you take into this season that you learned with Jason?
Jillian: Just to be open and vulnerable and to be myself. And by being myself it doesn't mean that I'm always making the right decisions or always reacting the way I would hope. You're juggling 15, 16, 20 guys and you break down and you cry or whatever being yourself, just be yourself. Do deal with the situation as it comes and try to have fun whenever you can. I think that's what I learned last season was I think I was so afraid to show emotion and I was so afraid to be vulnerable, that I may have sold myself short, and in this season, I'm definitely not doing that.

Question: I want to know if you have surprised yourself at who you've been attracted to because like you said you can kind of see on paper what you want. But then when you actually meet somebody things can surprise you. Have you gotten that at all?
Jillian: Absolutely, I mean like I said before there are guys that I would keep because they're exactly what I want on paper, but maybe they don't make me feel the way I should.
Then there's the guys that make me feel the way I should but they're nothing of what I wanted on paper. And it's definitely confusing but I have for sure surprised myself. With the feelings that I have with the guys that are left is really the ultimate goal, so I have had to kind of throw that piece of paper away.

Question: Okay and I love your hot dog theory. Did you employ that at all with the guys that are still left in the competition?
Jillian: Oh, these guys give me a run for my money and they're not buying the whole hot dog thing. So I tried, I've tried to play the hot dog thing on them but they're not buying it. So we've had a little bit of fun with it and they all, they definitely know what my favorite foods are by now and they know why I love mustard and I love hot dogs. But other than that it hasn't, I don't think I'll be the hot dog girl this season.

Question: I'm just wondering given all that happened with Jason and the enormous criticism he came under last season and your answer to that earlier question. Why the hell do you want to put your romantic life out there in front of millions of people every week?
Jillian: Right, yes and I start finding myself getting heated when answering the questions. Then I kind of thought to myself, right, I did put myself in this situation. That's the one question I don't feel like is appropriate. But I'm putting my romantic life out there on public, not my sex life or anything like that. I think that I am, I, like I said believe, I'm successful. I have great values, great morals. I'm a family girl. I volunteer for Big Brothers and Big Sisters. I'm not here to date and mess around with 30 guys. I'm here to hopefully find the person I'm going to spend the rest of my life with and that is a very, very serious thing for me. If I have to go through the same criticism that Jason went through, and maybe even make the same bad decisions, I hope that I don't, but I'm here to find that person and I'm really serious and very passionate about it. So to be in the public eye for a couple of months in order to find a lifelong happiness for me is totally worth it.

Question: Given the show’s track record for successful relationships, do you feel like you're on the right track?
Jillian: Well, trust me, neither does the dating scene back home – it doesn't have the best track record either. I can tell you that if I walked down the street and I bumped into any of the guys that I have left right now, I strongly believe that I would, my jaw would drop to the floor, I would go home in a mad panic and wonder what I should do next. How I should call this person what I should wear to the next date. And I probably would end up being with one of those people for a long time. I can't tell you whether it would end in marriage, but all of the people that I have left are remarkable people that I have not met anybody like these guys.

Question: I was wondering now that the tables are turned what has been the best thing about being the Bachelorette so far?
Jillian: Other than the fact that I'm sitting on my balcony watching the waves roll in in Hawaii? I think the best part is, oh boy, I think well I think I've learned so much about myself last season. But it's hard not wearing the pants I guess. You know last season it was hard to remember that I still have to do what's best for me, but this season, I think I'm even realizing more who I am and what sort of qualities I have to give and what qualities I'm looking for and I get to make those calls. And I get to make those shots. I also feel like I haven't lived in the shoes of anybody else who has done this, but I feel like I've been really open and really honest and sometimes too honest. And I've really encouraged the guys to do the same thing. I feel like I've had a really open mind with all the guys, somebody tells me something that's really surprising and really shocking. As long as they are honest and as long as they're trying to put themselves out there. There's nothing bad you could say. So I think that's what I love about doing it this time is that I'm writing the story and I think it's a lot of fun.

Question: Absolutely, so do you and Jason are you still friends? Do you remain friends and keep in touch?
Jillian: Well, I made a conscious decision when I the day I decided to do this. Jason actually was helping me quite a bit make up my mind to do this. He is somebody that I talked to and he really supported me and Melissa supported me and all the other girls supported me. But when I knew I made the decision and when I realized okay I'm making the decision to find somebody new and I had to sort of cut off my relationship with Jason. But it's temporary, and I will definitely be friends with him after all this is over. I know how people view him but he followed his heart and he made a huge move and he put his reputation on the line. But it's for love and I feel like right now they're still together and they're still happy, so hopefully they'll prove everybody wrong.

Question: If if Jason and Molly were to get married would you go?
Jillian: Oh, that's a good question, okay so this is a part of me that's really open and honest. I feel like if this goes the way I want it to go and I am in a I guess the romantic place that I want to be I think I would go for sure. I can't imagine me showing up to their wedding solo. But yes, I would go if I find what I'm looking for, I would go and I don't know why that makes a difference but I'm just being honest, that's how I feel. I would have a hard time showing up solo but if I find someone I'll go.

Question: I was actually just wondering have you ever had guys vying for your affection in high school or grade school or anything like that? Obviously not 30 guys at once but several?
Jillian: Honestly, I don't think so I mean my friends will probably be yelling at me right now if they were sitting here saying "yes you have,” but I've had a lot of relationships and I've dated a lot of really great guys. In high school I was sort of the class clown I think. I wasn't really, yes I think I always had one solid boyfriend I never dated a lot and in the last five years I'd say the roster has been really dry.

Question: Now you mentioned several times how you really enjoy the quirky aspect of your personality, you're proud of it. Are you hoping to find a guy who is just as quirky and unique. Maybe has, you know, little weird habits and things like that?
Jillian: Well I think I was hoping for that and I've been learning so much about myself in the last couple of years. I definitely know that it's hard for me to be with somebody that is as quirky and sort of bubbly as me because it's a lot of energy in a room and it probably would give us both a headache. I need somebody who embraces it and who finds humor in it and who also has some humor and some of their own quirky characteristics for sure. I definitely don't want perfection, I'm not looking for perfection.

Question: Have you ever had a boyfriend that just had like a really weird habit that you were, able to accept just because you do seem like a very accepting person?
Jillian: Well since I've since broken up with all of them or they've broken up with me I don't know. There was one boyfriend that I dated and he loved EBay, like loved EBay and he knows who he is he's probably going to kill me right now, but anything to do with EBay. He and I bought all his clothes on EBay and I thought it was really cute and he actually got me hooked on it for the longest time. But it was one of those things, it's like it's weird, but I think that's what makes everybody unique and different. To me is what's really attractive is if somebody can say this is who I am yes it's a bit strange but it's me.

Question: So do you get swept up in the moment? When you're in a romantic setting can you think level headedly?
Jillian: Honestly, I mean I don't know if anybody will believe me when I say this, but I think it works, I think I would have an easier time falling in love and being swept of my feet if I was back in my home town or their home town. I feel like when I'm in this beautiful place because you are getting swept off your feet. It's harder to think about reality, like I'll go up to my room and shut all the curtains and think to myself who do I see coming through the door after a long day of work? After being married for 25 years? Who do I see comforting me after, when I lose somebody down the road or who do I see on my wedding day or just those normal those fixing my tire when it's broken. So being here in Hawaii and we've been to Spain - has been so amazing and so wonderful. But I'm a very cautious person with all this I take it very seriously. I'm sort of like okay put the palm trees and beauty and the coconuts and mahitais aside, just look at the person just for who they are. I don't think that any of this is distracting me at all.

Question: I'm kind of intrigued by this Texan who is a financial analyst. But anyway his name is Tanner P. He said immediately he was obsessed with your feet. Could you elaborate on that a little?
Jillian: I can't elaborate on it too much, but Tanner has a foot fetish and he loves feet and I think it was really cute. I mean I don't really love my feet, my one toe is longer than the other toes and they're wrinkly. But he found them really beautiful, so yes, I mean he's a doll. So I think that his foot fetish was really cute.

Question: So you didn't mind that at all?
Jillian: No, like you say these are the quirky things that make people unique and make people stand out, and I love it when people embrace their differences. I love it when people can say like I have a foot fetish and that's me. I love that I think that's very attractive.

Question: I know it's hard to remember but were there any other Texans that stood out at the very beginning?
Jillian: There was actually quite few Texans. There was Bobby and there was Wes and there was Tanner we just talked about and there was Jake and all of those guys are really incredibly guys and I don't know if it's the water down there. Or the country music but you guys are doing something right.

Question: I was just going to say touching on, you know, the world of hurt that's possible with reality TV with the backlash against Jason and the current situation with Jon & Kate Plus 8. What thoughts have you given to reconciling your life basically being other people's entertainment?
Jillian: Well I'm going to be perfectly honest that is something that I do think about a lot. I'm a people pleaser and so naturally I want everybody to like me. It's really scary but like I said before my the possibility of me finding somebody and this whole experience…just all the guys that I've met and the places I've traveled and the feelings that I've had, make it worth it. I hope that the Jill that I know that is open and honest and vulnerable and sincere and wants to make people laugh and wants to be a good person is the person that you guys see. I also hope that if I make a decision or I react a way that people think isn't appropriate or that people want to judge, I just hope that everybody can put themselves in my shoes and know that I am aware that I am not perfect. I'm okay with that and I believe the everybody is entitled to their opinions but before making an opinion, they would put themselves in my shoes. It's scary because I embrace my imperfections I look at everybody who is in the limelight and who is in those tabloids including Jason and that scandal with the Jon Plus 8 and all it does is make me realize that everybody makes mistakes - nobody is perfect. I just have to go out there with that mindset and hope that people just appreciate me for that. I am one of those people that they always say that when you're one of the contestants, you're the underdog. Everybody loves you but when you're the Bachelorette or Bachelor and you're wearing the pants you are judged more. I am very aware of that and I am scared of that, but I signed up for this and I'm just going to own it and I'm going, I haven't made a decision yet that I regret. But I can't say that I haven't made any bad decisions, so I'm just going to deal with it and cross my fingers and hope that I represent myself well.

Question: And speaking of decisions, hypothetically speaking if there is no commitment, love match are you willing not to choose one of the guys because there's got to be tons of pressure for the fairy tale ending on this?
Jillian: Yes that's something I've been thinking about a lot and as you know broadcast live there's no there's nobody saying that I have to get engaged. That's something again it's like the whole being traveling and getting swept off my feet. I don't want to get engaged or commit myself to somebody just because I signed up for this. I want to commit myself to them because I'm crazy about them and that is one thing I'm sure that in the end if you do see me choosing somebody. Or you do see me not choosing somebody I'll be making that decision not because I'm the Bachelorette but because those are my true feelings. That's something that I've thought about. The two things that you've just brought up is - what if I don't find somebody and what everybody says to me after this is over - those are my two biggest concerns. But you miss 100% of shots you don't take, right, Wayne Gretsky? You just have to go out there and give it a shot and see what happens.

Question: As a Canadian girl you probably haven't dated a lot of Americans. What do you find attractive about them?
Jillian: You know people are people, and they are really not that much different than Canadians. I can say that they are more forward but maybe I'm just seeing a more forward side of them because of the position that they're in. One of the hardest things I found dating back home is, and maybe it's me too, is that everybody just tries to be so chill and be your friend and like, "Hey dude what's up?" And it's hard to put yourself out on the line and say, "I like you I want to date you.” I felt like for me that didn't happen a lot back home so other than that these American guys were tons of fun. I don't know aside from accents, there's a lot of different accents - which I can't judge because I've got one myself.

Question: Have you watched Melissa on Dancing With The Stars, have you voted for her and what are your thoughts about her being on the show?
Jillian: I haven't been able to watch her. I mean I don't know if anybody knows how crazy the schedule is here, but there's not a lot of time for any TV watching. I don't think I've turned a TV on, I've turned a TV on maybe once since I started all of this. But I have been keeping my eye on her and I've been asking a lot and I know that she is in the semi-finals. I miss her so much, I cannot wait to see her after all this is over. I'm so proud of her, I can't wait to see her and I know she's doing well.

Question: In the event you didn't find love on the show would you be willing to go on Dancing With The Stars also?
Jillian: No, oh my God, no, I am the worst dancer in the world. I could not do anything to do with dancing or singing. No, I would, no, if I was a good dancer, yes I would go. I would go on Dancing With The Stars. My coordination - I think you better wait and watch the season - I think there's a few times where I'll show you I'm not a good dancer. Let's choose something else maybe that has to do with interior design maybe I would do that.

Question: The women have had the only success - the Bachelorette has had some success and Bachelor hasn't had any. Do you think that's just coincidence or is there a reason? Is it possible that the women are a little better at being in a selecting position?
Jillian: Oh, I don't think it's a coincidence I think women are a lot smarter than men when it comes to this kind of thing. That's going to be my shortest answer today.

Question: You said something about interior designing and you know we've got a ton of those shows in the U.S. we got a ton of good new reality interior design shows. When this is all done would you be interested in doing one of those shows that?
Jillian: I love my job that I have right now. I do restaurant design and I love everything to do with my job, but would I do would I take on a reality show that had to do with interior design? I think that would be another incredible opportunity and I would love. I think that I would love to do something like that, but I'm not here to find a career in the TV industry. I would be more than thrilled to go back to my regular life and do my restaurant design and work nine to five. But I'm pretty open to all those possibilities for sure.

Jesse Csincsak on Dancing with the Stars?

So Deanna's ex, Jesse Csincsak wants to be on Dancing with the Stars...... Does he want bachelor reject Melissa Rycroft to be his partner? According to Jesse's website, he is petitioning himself to be on the next DWTS:  

"Jesse Csincsak, former Bachelorette winner, is looking to be on the next season of Dancing With the Stars. I'd think he'd be terrific. As a professional snowboarder, he's certainly got the athletic skills and balance and coordination. Plus, he really looks good (and even better in person than on camera.)" 

He is asking people to go to his website and vote him in. Do we really want to see more of Jesse as he gets his 15 minutes of fame or have we moved on? DWTS is going to turn into 'Dancing with the Rejected Bachelors' if Jesse gets in. Who knows? They may even as Molly and Jason to make an appearance as well!  At least Deanna and Jesse didn't get married! 

Does Wes Have a Girlfriend?

Rumor has it that some of the boys might have a girlfriend back home.  Naughty boys!

 Is Wes similar to Deanna's Graham? Does Wes just want a music career more than a wife? 

If Wes Hayden joined The Bachelorette to jump start his music career, then he got what he came for. The ABC reality dating series has just aired two episodes and yet the country singer from Texas has already become the subject of much controversy. After speculations that this bachelor isn't really looking for love on the show, rumors are now swirling that he has a girlfriend of three years. Although this is still unconfirmed, I'm not really surprised to learn that Wes has a girlfriend. Besides his questionable intentions towards this seasons' love searcher, Jillian, he seems like the kind of guy who will break your heart. Moreover, Jillian has had some bad vibe about him during their one-on-one date but she second-guessed her intuition and gave him a rose instead, leaving Wes still in the running.  Some people, including those who are in relationships, would go to great lengths just to get their 15 minutes of fame so when you think about it, the idea of joining a reality dating series for publicity is not that far fetched. Wes is 32, after all, and is too old for mainstream singing competitions such as American Idol, though he could still try out forNashville Star.

Perhaps ABC deliberately picks a few guys with girlfriends to spice up each season of The Bachelorette? At any rate, word on the street is that Wes makes it to the finale four --- just when Jillian finds out that he has a girlfriend and sends him home. 

Ladies do love a man who can sing!

Brad: So he loses out on the solo date to Wes, but somehow managed to get a rose out of it.

So Julien, Mathue, Simon, and Brian didn’t get roses. We didn’t know much about any of them, so it wasn’t really sad to see them go. Well, except Brian, who blamed the weather on the fact that he was “hung like a lightswitch, so that probably didn’t help matters.” Thank you Brian for that visual. Now go comb the high schools for your next victim you creep. I would hope that Mathue would use this experience to see that his name is spelled incorrectly and he needs to fix it. As for Simon, he was the Agnese of this season. The European contestant who completely didn’t fit in. Except Agnese got to the final four, and Simon is going home in Week 2. That’s ok. Gives him more time to hang out in pubs, sing songs, and star fights while watching Liverpool play soccer. Yikes!

If you're new to this blog, and it appears we have some new readers, I usually start off by answering or responding to some of your comments. But this week I want to start by letting you know I'm writing this the night before our final rose ceremony. By the time you read this, the season will be officially wrapped. This is the first time in the history of the show we have still been in production while the show is on the air. Now, on to your comments.

Teacher, you are correct -- I am not a master of the written or spoken word. I should be better with my grammar and set a better example for my kids. Just not sure that ain't gonna happen... oops! No, it didn't rain before episode one. This is where TV and common sense run in different directions: The director wants the driveway wet so it looks good on TV. Meanwhile, wardrobe puts Jillian in a full-length light colored gown. Not a good combination. What you guys didn't see is when Jillian was walking in and out of the house, I was trailing behind her holding her dress off the wet cement so it wouldn't get trashed. It didn't help much. Somebody mentioned at rose ceremonies that names are written on the roses to help Jillian know who to call. Not true, but that's a really cool idea. Not sure the art department would be up for that little plan. For those who asked, you can find me on twitter @chrisbharrison (JOIN US FOR TWEETING ON MONDAY NIGHTS. I'd hate to think that everybody was happy and content. Oh, and not sure what you meant by asking if I like to get wet like Jeff Probst -- but all of a sudden I felt as creeped out as Jillian's feet. Now, on to episode 2!

It's always fun to move the guys into the outhouse, or "bunkhouse" as these guys end up calling it. It's not a huge surprise, but this season moving 20 guys into that space was pretty funny. It was so packed in there they were sleeping in single bunks right next to each other. One outdoor shower and one bathroom -- stuff we would never do to the group of women, sorry fellas. I know you love the behind the scenes tidbits, so here's a bunch from this episode you won't read or hear about anywhere else. The group race for Jillian was fun. Pretty funny leaving Michael up on the balcony, as he was acting all cocky expecting the rose. Wes ended up winning the competition and dinner. More importantly, this is also where the guys begin to question his motives and intentions. One of the coolest dates this year (especially for Jillian, given that she's such a country fan) was the concert with Martina McBride. The date started out with Jillian looking sexy driving off with Jake in this purple Stingray. What you didn't see that wasn't so sexy was Jillian having to sit on three pillows so we could see her on camera and she could see over the steering wheel. Turns out, Martina is a big fan of the show and really wanted to be a part of it. We had conference calls where Martina was pitching ideas on how to get involved in the date. She was awesome on stage and awesome to deal with. Thanks Martina!

On the group date, Mike ran into the ocean in a bikini. He actually bought those off of some random guy on the beach for $10. Jillian thought that was very funny, and he ended up getting the rose for it. (Running in a bikini, funny... Brian going full nude at the party, not so much. We'll discuss that more later.) Many of you commented on Tanner P. and his foot fetish. The truth about his obsession came out in this episode. I talked to Jillian today, and she told me she found it unique and kind of funny, not creepy. They laughed and had fun with it, unlike Brian going full frontal at the party. Okay, let's just deal with that now. Jillian put it best in the deliberation room -- sorry you didn't get to see that this week; we just had too much stuff to cram into the show. Jillian said she likes to have fun and wants to see the guys be themselves, but there's a line of decency and it was crossed. There's fun and cute, and then there's a lack of respect -- and unfortunately for Brian, his choice was the latter. Jillian felt very uncomfortable, and in the end that helped her decision in sending him home. On a personal note, that's just not something I ever need to see again. Brian was right -- the skinny dip did volumes separating him from the rest of the guys.

One little surprise for Jillian and the guys during the cocktail party was the vote. Tensions were already running a little high, and I don't think the ballot box helped. At the time I kind of thought Brad would get the most votes, but he didn't get any. Juan really started to rub some of the guys the wrong way but Jillian decided to save him. (DIDN'T THAT REMIND YOU OF WHEN MEGAN GOT THE MOST VOTES ON THE BACHELOR? MEGAN WAS A BIT STRANGE TOO). One thing I didn't mention on the show is that I got one vote to be sent home -- that was pretty funny.

In closing, I'd like to say I hope you or your significant other isn't hung like a "light switch," and on a scale from zero to Bilbro, I hope you're all feeling Bilbro! See ya next week, and I will continue to read all of your comments -- the good, bad and the ugly.

What happens to our favorite Bachelorette's after the show?

After the show airs, our favorite bachelorette's seem to disappear (or at least break-up with their chosen guy). So where are they now?


Season 1: Trista Rehn
We all remember fan favorite Trista who actually found the love of her life, Ryan, and married him. The first bachelorette to do so (so far. We still have hopes for Jillian!). Here is what she has been up to since the show...Since the healthy delivery of daughter Blaskesley Grace Sutter on April 3, former The Bachelorette stars Trista and Ryan have been overjoyed about their new addition.

Life & Style: You and Ryan are the only couple from the Bachelor and Bachelorette shows to make it to the altar and start a family. What's your secret?

Trista: You know, it's so hard to say. I will acknowledge that it's difficult. You meet under these crazy circumstances, and then you get separated for three months, which was super hard. And I think some people just think they're ready and then when they see the person again, they realize those feelings just aren't there. I didn't set out to be the only Bachelorette to get married. I just feel lucky and blessed that my life turned out this way.

Season 2: Meredith Philips

Sweet Meredith chose salesman, Ian McKee, and eventually broke up with him in 2005. Since the show, sweet Meredith has been very low-key and not interested in re-living her spotlight in the media. She has since published a cookbook called Date Night Cookbook.











Season 3: Jennifer Schefft
We all remember how Bachelor, Andrew Firestone, proposed to Jen and later broke up with her. She chose art director, Jerry Ferris, over fellow finalist John Paul Merritt in a first live final rose ceremony. During this last episode, Jerry proposed to Jen. She rejected his proposal, however, stating that the chemistry was not there. OUCH! That had to hurt.

Jen Schefft is a Bachelorette no longer. The two-time reality TV star wed Joe Waterman in an intimate ceremony Friday night at a restaurant in Chicago, according to People Magazine. Schefft, 32, and Waterman, a 35-year-old trader, met on a blind date in February 2008 and announced their engagement in September. Andrew Firestone and his new bride, Ivana Bozilovic, welcomes a son in March.

"The Bachelorette" launched its new season Monday night with Jillian Harris weeding through 30 men in her search for love. Only 20 men are left and four more will be sent home at the end of next Monday night's episode. In order to stay, the men must be awarded a rose -- so the competition heats up when Jillian invites eight bachelors to a sexy poolside party. Imagine their surprise when "The Bachelorette" disappears. It turns out that Jillian's vanishing act is part of an outrageous scavenger hunt with the grand prize being a candlelit dinner for two.

Only one of these fortunate men is invited by Jillian for the first one-on-one date, but she's worried the bachelor might be too conservative for her, so she makes him trade in his preppy khakis and button-down shirt for sexy Western wear before surprising him with her ultimate dream date: A private concert by country music super star Martina McBride. Then, seven lucky bachelors arrive at Venice Beach, CA thinking they'll compete in a game of pickup basketball for Jillian's attention, only to find out that the legendary Harlem Globetrotters -- including Flight Time Lang, Ant Atkinson, Skyscraper Alleyne and Scooter Christensen -- are their competition.

Melissa and Jason: The Final Ending

We all watched last season when Jason proposed to Melissa, then broke her heart on national TV. I know, old news.

But how many of us knew ahead of time that was going to happen?

If you read the many Bachelor spoiler websites and blogs, you actually knew weeks beforehand how it was going to play out. I admit, that I couldn't help myself and watched that "famous" You Tube video that told us Melissa was the final one, examining her birthmarks and the color of her arms to great detail. We also found out that blogger 'Reality Steve' had some inside information that Jason was going to choose Melissa, then break up with her to be with Molly. Although I wouldn't help looking at all the spoiler information, it ruined it for me. I wanted to enjoy the love story but I didn't really want to know how it ended.

Did knowing the ending ruin it for anyone else?

This time I don't want the ending spoiled for me.

You also have to feel badly for Melissa after her emails to Jason were leaked to the media. Melissa even confirmed these emails were true.

As the fallout from the season finale of The Bachelor continues, Access Hollywood claims to have uncovered personal e-mails between Jason Mesnick and Melissa Rycroft, his chosen fiancee who he dumped on national TV four minutes later. In the first of several emails, Melissa Rycroft expressed her anger at Jason following the "After the Rose" special (taped in mid-January), in which Jason dumped her hard and opted for a second chance with runner-up Molly Malaney. While Jason's change of heart shocked viewers who saw it unfold about 16 seconds after their televised engagement, Melissa may have seen it coming.

She wrote in the e-mail dated January 19:

"Last night didn't go NEAR how I thought... I still can't believe how you can't give reasons other than 'It changed.'... You know as well as I do that you didn't give 100% to me or the relationship. I don't understand how you can walk away form something without giving it your all. But I am walking away knowing I did."

In the initial e-mail after the taping, Melissa Rycroft seemed quite clued in to Jason's feelings for Molly Malaney prior to his tearful TV confession: "And getting confirmation about Molly in front of people like that was a complete classless move if you ask me - how could you do that to me after I repeatedly asked you about it? I'm not stupid, I knew about Molly... and you lied to me about it. I can't even tell you how much respect I lost for you... but it makes this whole process from here on out much easier for me." In an interview with People after Monday's finale, Jason Mesnick insisted that he had no choice in how the situation played out, that it was "part of the deal" in his contract - a sentiment echoed in his reply e-mail to Melissa.

Jason wrote the following: "The producers had a lot to do with it. I am so sorry. This is so horrible." Melissa Rycroft wasn't buying that weak sauce excuse, responding: "You are a grown man and perfectly capable of making your own decisions. Own your actions and stop blaming this process."

In a later e-mail, dated January 21, Jason answered Melissa's note, going as far as to say he suffered karmic retribution for calling off the engagement: "You don't deserve any of it at all. I wish there were more that I could say. I want to take all of your pain away and put it on me. If you are talking about Karma, I slipped and fell and had a huge gash in my leg 3 inches wide and to the bone. I deserve so much worse for what I am doing to you." And in the final e-mail between the two, also dated January 21, Melissa reflected on Jason being dumped by DeAnna Pappas on The Bachelorette: "I do think it's a little ironic that you kept telling me, 'Morally, how could I ever get back with DeAnna after what she did to me?' And I agree... just seems like a very similar situation with your new lady... Just a little irony I guess. Seeing the person that you became, you are right: a relationship between you and I would never work out... I'm not mad... I'm not hurt - seeing how things were handled helped me get over things quickly. I do wish you both the best though. Take care."

Please Jillian, be like Trista and just try to find real love.

Well hello, my friends -- oh how I've missed you. Just look what you people have done to me: This time last year I had never even blogged before and now I Twitter. I Twitter! What has happened to me? I'm so hip next thing you know I'll be wearing Ed Hardy shirts and riding a motorcycle. (By the way guys, if that's your thing no offense -- women really love that!) The last season was so mentally and emotionally draining I wasn't really sure I was ready to jump back in the water so quickly with another season. I arrived the first night and found Jillian getting her makeup done. She hopped up with that infectious smile of hers and gave me a big hug. She was a breath of fresh air, and I knew right then we were ready to go again. I've done so many interviews where I've tried to describe what's so great about Jillian; the best way to sum it all up is what you see is what you get. She's the real deal and any of these guys will be lucky to end up with her -- and I'm truly hoping that happens. Notice I said hoping: For the first time in Bachelor/Bachelorette history, the show is premiering while we're still in production. So if somebody tells you they know how all this ends, you should also ask them for future lottery ticket numbers.

After the jump: Bilbro, breakdancing, and more roses than ever

I'm sure you noticed we are back in the same house. I love shooting at this house; not only is it close to where I live, but it looks great on TV. Once again, huge props to the art department and lighting for making everything look so fantastic. I wish you all could meet the small army that works so hard to make this show so good. The first night is always a long one and this one was no different. We did have one little twist for Jillian: About half way through the night, I brought five more guys in. I really didn't think much of this, that is until I saw everybody's reaction. I figured it would be fun and Jillian would be excited -- the more the merrier, right? The original 25 guys got pretty territorial, and Jilli got a bit overwhelmed. I think she had just gotten a handle on everything when I threw her the curve ball. She ended up handling it like a pro and that's a good thing, because she ended up keeping most of the new guys.

Speaking of, lets talk about the guys and the cocktail party. (Hold on, 'cause here comes a bunch of random thoughts about the guys and the night.) "On a scale of one to Bilbro... I'm Bilbro." Greg, I'm gonna miss you the most of all. Greg was certainly not the one for Jilli, but damn he would have been outstanding entertainment. Brian, "Hot tub Harris"... great line. That's gonna stick. Kyle, if your gonna roll up on The Bachelorette in a Members Only jacket, you can't think you have game -- you better have major game. No rose for Kyle, and we lost our only member. Greg and Mike challenge each other to a break off -- not since the '80s has such a battle been waged. Know this people: The rec center not only wasn't saved this time, it burned to the ground. In the end, in my humble breakin' opinion, Greg did get served and Mike stomped the yard. (Can somebody get Kyle's Members Only jacket for me please?)

Tanner P's foot fetish... Let me tell you, at this point Jillian didn't know anything about his odd desires. Don't worry -- this story isn't over yet! You can bet your left pinky toe on that. Dave got the first impression rose -- what a perfect example of what a great women Jilli is. Dave really fell all over himself trying to speak when he got out of the limo, and I think Jillian knew his ego had taken a bit of a shot and he was embarrassed. Jillian really gave him a shot in the arm by giving him the first impression rose. Class move, Jilli! Wondering what you guys think of Wes and his song for Jillian. I know some of the guys were put off, but it worked on Jillian, and isn't that what really matters most?

The first rose ceremony was one of the weirdest scenes I've ever walked into on this show. It felt like there were 50 guys in that room. I know it's only five more than normal, but it just felt very crowded in there. We went from 30 down to 20, so obviously the numbers are going to be a little different each week. This, oddly enough, really changed the show. (We'll discuss this more in the upcoming weeks.) Let me say this before I go, after nineteen roses I know you were confused, and thank God I was there to let you know there was one final rose left. What would you do without me? Wait, don't answer that! I need the job. It's good to be back, and I'm glad you're back with me. It's a great season and I think you'll all enjoy the ride.

Episode # 1- Jillian's Feet and Bachelor Breakdancers

In case you forgot all the Bachelor's names already (like I always do), here is the ABC re-cap of the show:

Vancouver gal, Jillian Harris, says that the experience with Jason taught her to "open her heart" and learn to let her guard down. "It's my turn to do the choosing," she enthuses. "There's somebody really special out there for me. I haven't met him yet but I know he exists." She vows that this time, "I'm not going home empty-handed." Chris introduces us to the 25 handsome men who'll be competing for Jillian's affections. They include: Michael, break-dance instructor; Julien, a daredevil who loves sky-diving: Stephen, a law school graduate; Jake, a pilot; Wes, a country singer; and Greg, a fitness model who considers himself a "perfect 10."

Jillian's impressions of the men:

Kiptyn is first out of the limo. He tells Jillian that from what little he knows of her, he's "impressed." Bryan tells Jillian she looks gorgeous. He says he's a teacher and football coach, but all he wants to do is sweep off her feet -- and he scoops her up in his arms! She laughs and gives him a hug before he goes inside. John P. from Indiana is next, followed by Brian, who greets her as "hot tub Harris!" He jokes that he's going to go inside and "whip up a couple of hot dogs."
Jake, the pilot, says, "Wow!" when he sees Jillian and tells her she looks amazing and gives her a present: Her first set of wings. First out of the second limo is Dave, from Ohio. He chokes on his words and apologizes for being nervous. He tells her, "I'm anxious to get to know you."
Tanner F., from Denver, says, "I know I can be that guy who'll be on that rocking chair with you when we're 90." Next is Michael, the break dance instructor, and then Robby, who says he's been "waiting a long time" to meet her. He's a bartender and promises to make her a special drink inside. John from Idaho and Jesse both tell Jillian that she's the only reason they wanted to be part of the show, while Julien shares that he's been warned by his friends not to break her heart!
Sasha from Houston gives her a peck on the cheek and notes, "This is kind of like a mix of prom and your first high school dance," which makes Jillian laugh.

Brad from Chicago (in a purple shirt and tie), tells her he's "corny" and she says she likes that. Mathue arrives wearing a cowboy hat, one that's signed by all his favorite artists, including Jillian's, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Thickly accented Simon from Yorkshire, England, needs subtitles when he introduces himself to Jillian. He's brought along some tea from his "mum" and offers to make her a cup inside. Jillian admires Wes's cowboy boots and thrift store shopper Kyle's outfit. Adam, from Long Beach, gives her a hug and asks for her first five minutes when she goes inside. Steve jokes, "Thanks to going to all this trouble for me." Argentinian-born Juan, greets her in Spanish. Caleb, who's wearing jeans, tells her he's from Nashville. Josh tells her she looks beautiful. Greg approaches her with arms wide open saying, "You want to hug it out?" and tells her he's married five couples. Mark shares his own food theory : He asks her what she likes on her pizza. She says she likes "everything" and he has to think that one over. Now that she's met all 25 Bachelors, Chris tells her about the first impression rose, and that she'll be sending 10 men home at the end of the evening. Jillian greets the men inside and says, "I am really here to find the love of my life and I hope you are too. Pilot Jake is the first to steal Jillian away for one-on-one time. He tells her he's the "black sheep" of the family. He's interrupted by Jesse, who talks about being a wine maker. He wanted to stand out, so he unbuttons his dress shirt to reveal a T-shirt underneath that says, "Aspiring Canadian." Jillian seems impressed. Tanner F. breaks in and tells her he watched the show last season and he's looking for a "best friend" and someone who "takes his breath away." He's confident that he's made a good impression and that they're "definitely compatible." She selects Kiptyn for a one-on-one and they discuss surfing. He tells her she seemed "the most real" of all the women last season. She quizzes him about his favorite hot dog topping and he admits to being a "ketchup only" guy.

Juan brings her a glass of wine and they talk about his large family. He says he share her "work hard, play hard" philosophy. Chris arrives with the first impression rose on a tray. The men realize the pressure is on and that they're all vying for a rose tonight. Jillian was sure coming in that she'd know right away who was a yes and who was a no, but is finding, "it isn't that way at all. There a lot of great guys," she says and she foresees some hard decisions. Kyle is sure he's going to dazzle her with his wit. He draws a mustache on her hand with a magic marker and talks about Paris. Brian decides to counter Kyle's "artsy" talk by telling Jillian about the trailer parks he grew up in in Alabama. Mathue, of the cowboy hat, is the second man to literally sweep Jillian off her feet by picking her up. "I could get used to this," she laughs. He tells her he loves his job as a personal trainer.

Wes serenades Jillian with a song he wrote just for her and accompanies himself on guitar. Inside, Brad declares Wes's song "lame." Wes, however, is sure he's going to get the first rose.
Michael proclaims that he's "a little bit in love" after she kicks off her heels to break dance with him. Greg believes he's a better break dancer and challenges Michael to a dance-off, but the other guys declare Mike the winner. Meanwhile, Jillian has no idea who she's going to give the first rose to. She sits down next with Dave, who admits to being "star-struck" when he first met her. "You really caught me off guard," he confesses. She thinks he froze up on purpose so that she'd remember him, although he denies it.

Chris returns with a surprise (shocking as Chris likes to say) announcement: There are five more Bachelors! The newcomers are Ed, Bryce, Reid, Tanner P.,and Mike, who throws a baseball to Jillian and jokes, "You're a great catch," when she catches it. "The competition just got tougher," Chris tells the 25 men who were there first. "If you have something to say to Jillian, you better do it soon." Jillian talks to Ed first. He's sure they'll be a "good fit," He tells her he's been focusing on his career and not relationships until now. All he knows about her, he learned from his family, who encouraged him to go on the show. Tanner P. is a financial analyst who says he loves cooking, hunting and fishing. He's hoping to get a glimpse of Jillian's feet since he's a bit of a foot fetishist. He suggests they take off their shoes and dip their feet in the pool. He decides her feet are "phenomenal," although he's jealous that Mike is the one to dry Jillian's feet.

Jillian later says she feels "really comfortable" with Tanner P., and doesn't realize how intensely he was checking out her feet! Jillian disappears inside to get the rose, which she gives to Dave, telling him, it's a "second chance" at a first impression. He admits to being "blown away." The other men applaud him when he comes back in with the rose pinned to his label, but they can't help being jealous. Chris announces that it's time for the first rose ceremony. Jillian tells the men, "You guys totally exceeded my expectations" and thanks them for "making me feel so comfortable." She and Chris huddle in the deliberation room. He asks if anyone stood out tonight and she says Michael, the break-dancer was "really funny." She found Kyle "playful and fun" and Wes definitely "scored some brownie points" for his song.

Bachelorette Conspiracy Theory - Why didn't they show the proposal?

We all figured out early on that Melissa Rycroft was chosen from watching (and re-watching) that ending. And thanks to the many Bachelor conspiracy theories on the internet, we knew what happened after the rose. (Is everyone still mad at Jason? I've gotten over it and hope they are happy).

In yesterdays show, they showed an "ending" of Jillian standing alone in a setting (that I will have to watch again thanks to You Tube) but no man on one knee and no proposal. Of course, ABC loves to play with us and get us thinking. But are they going to trick us again? I say yes. Some are saying that they haven't even finished filming which is why they cannot show the ending. But ABC knows what it's doing and they already know the ending.

At least they didn't show any special upcoming guests appearance by Jason, Molly or Melissa. Deanna seems to be staying out of it this time.

Reason #3 We can now Tweet during the show

For those of you who co-tweeted with me, that was great! Come join us for a tweet and chat. Deanna Pappas told us that she was supposed to wear Jillian's white dress on her show but decided not to. Who would wear a white dress anyway? I would have spilled wine on it during in the first 5 minutes.
